Underwater Caves: What’s the Big Deal?
As a “normal” recreational scuba diver, it’s important to understand that there is a completely different diving community out there that you might be completely unaware of. Furthermore, since the vast majority of dive shops are geared to the entry-level recreational diver, it’s also quite likely that the shop staff and instructors know very little (or nothing at all) of this “other” community of divers, as well.
While it’s rare in such recreational dive shops & clubs to hear much more than an occasional whisper about “crazy”or “dangerous” cave diving, it’s good to know that there is a worldwide community of cave divers that spend tons of time in underwater caves…. and they do it every single day.
Over and over again.
And they love every minute of it.
The best part? Most divers in this community are very nice people, very skilled divers, and they’re happy to share their passion with anyone that’s interested!
