Ask any non-diver to name of the first piece of scuba gear that comes to mind and I bet you’ll hear “FINS” more often than not. When I first learned how to dive, I remember being really excited about getting my own ‘real’ fins. In my mind, nothing said “scuba diver” more than having your own pair of flippers.
Over the years, I’ve tried out numerous types and styles of fins. Although there some major differences between many fin styles, one thing is consistent: most dive fins come with some sort of rubber strap that goes around your heel, thereby securing the fin to your foot.
